Coolbox Films is a strategic creative and video production agency based in Brighton. We help businesses in complex sectors find the story inside their expertise, and build content that makes it land.
We’ve been doing this for over twenty-five years. In that time we’ve produced everything from global TV campaigns to corporate documentaries, brand films to social content, animation to live events. But the work we’re most proud of is the kind where we helped a client figure out what to say, not just how to film it.
We use AI to accelerate the parts of production that should be faster: research, transcription, assembly. That means more time and budget goes to the parts that matter most: thinking, judgement, and craft.


Co-Founder & Creative Director
Rob is a creative director with a long background in brand campaigns, documentary storytelling, and corporate communications. He has an instinct for knowing when something is finished and when it isn’t, which is more valuable than it sounds.
At Coolbox, Rob leads production and creative delivery, working closely with clients from first conversation through to final cut. He’s spent over two decades building long-term relationships with organisations like WFA, KPMG, Hearst and Disney.
He’s the person in the edit suite at midnight making sure the pacing is right.

Co-Founder & Creative Director
Tom is a creative director, novelist, and documentary filmmaker. His background in long-form narrative means he approaches communication problems differently from most people in production: what’s the structure, where’s the tension, what does the audience need to believe first?
At Coolbox, Tom leads strategic creative direction. He gets involved before the brief is written, helping clients figure out what to say and making sure every piece of content serves a purpose beyond looking good. His clients include WFA, Synectics Solutions, AtlasEdge, and Oxford University.
He writes at 6am and thinks in narrative the rest of the day.

We start with the business problem, not the video format. That sounds obvious, but most agencies skip straight to the deliverable. We don’t.
Every project begins with a strategy conversation: who are you talking to, what do they need to understand, and what’s getting in the way? From there, we develop the narrative, produce the content, and build it into a system that works across channels and over time.
One shoot can generate twelve months of content. We call it content banking, and it’s how our clients get more from their budget without compromising on quality.
A single strategic shoot can create a library of assets for campaigns, sales enablement, recruitment, investor comms, social, and events. It’s how you walk into the boardroom with a business case, not a creative pitch.
Many of our clients have worked with us for years. WFA for over a decade. KPMG across multiple campaigns. That’s not because we’re pleasant to deal with (although we are). It’s because we work as an extension of their team, evolving with their business and anticipating what they’ll need next.
We’re serious about delivery. On time, on budget, on brief. But we also believe the process should be genuinely enjoyable. Life’s too short for grim creative partnerships.
