Renters’ Rights Act Animated Explainer Series
Your Move and Reeds Rains commissioned us to create a series of animated explainer films to help landlords understand the implications of the new Renters’ Rights Act. The goal was to communicate complex regulatory changes in a clear, engaging way while positioning both brands as trusted experts who can guide landlords through the transition.
The Renters’ Rights Act introduced significant changes that many landlords found confusing and difficult to interpret. The client needed an accessible, engaging format that could simplify the legislation while maintaining brand authority. The solution also needed to work across multiple brands within the group.
We created Lexi, a bespoke animated character designed to act as a friendly and knowledgeable guide through the legislation. By filming a real presenter in our studio using autocue, we captured natural performance and delivery, then used AI-driven animation techniques to transform that performance into the Lexi character with human-like movement and accurate lip sync.
This hybrid approach combined AI efficiency with human creative direction, allowing us to deliver character animation significantly faster and more cost-effectively than traditional workflows while maintaining a high level of polish and personality.
Pre-production: Character design and visual style development for Lexi, script consultation with the client, and planning content that could be adapted across multiple brands.
Production: Filming a presenter in our studio using autocue to capture natural delivery and performance reference for the animated character.
Post-production: AI-assisted character animation and rendering of Lexi, lip-sync and motion refinement, branding adaptations for each company, and formatting the films in 16:9 and 9:16 with subtitle and caption options.
By combining AI-powered animation with skilled human creative direction, we created engaging, scalable character-led content that makes complex legislation easy to understand while dramatically improving production efficiency.
